Murai Family Sugidama 720ml
Classic Imported Junmai Ginjo
A sugidama is a large cedar ball to hang from a brewery to signal the start of the brewing season. Momokawa Sake Brewery (Murai Family) in the Aomori Prefecture recently made what they modestly call a “big” sugidama. It’s 2.2 meters in circumference, weighs about 500 kg, and took a team of five workers a week to make.
Hints of fresh fallen rain, unique wood tones and gentle fruit notes lure you into this seductively light, yet intriguingly complex brew. The Murai Family heir’s personal favorite, and one we guarantee you’ll fall in love with too.
Enjoyment: Enjoy with classic Japanese fare or saffron laced rice and a medium-spicy vindaloo.
